Ravens acknowledge Gus Edwards' larger role
Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards will have a much bigger workload following J.K. Dobbins' season-ending ACL injury, offensive coordinator Greg Roman acknowledged.
“He’s our kind of guy," Roman said. "He’s built for what we do.” Edwards rushed 144 times for 723 yards and 6 touchdowns last season, and he has averaged at least 5.0 yards per carry each of his three years in the league. Ty'Son Williams has reportedly passed Justice Hill on the depth chart as the Ravens' No. 2 back.
Edwards earned the fourth-highest rushing grade from Pro Football Focus last season. The 26-year-old is the RB19 in numberFire's Week 1 fantasy rankings and our models project him to score 12.7 FanDuel points in Week 1 versus the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football.
