Chargers sign former Ravens rusher Gus Edwards in free agency
Former Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards will sign as a free agent with the Los Angeles Chargers, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Edwards spent the first five years of his career playing under Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, but will now travel west to play with John's brother Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers. Edwards brings a physical running style to a team that desperately needed someone to grind out yards between the tackles in recent seasons. Without Edwards' steady presence in the backfield, expect the Ravens to make some additions to their running back room in the offseason.
Edwards had rushed for at least 5 yards per carry in each of his first 4 seasons and rushed for a career-best 13 touchdowns as the Ravens' goal line back in 2023. He finished his last year in Baltimore with 810 rushing yards on 198 attempts.
