Cowboys focused on Jalen Ramsey and Ezekiel Elliott
The Dallas Cowboys' pick at fourth overall will come down to either defensive back Jalen Ramsey or running back Ezekiel Elliott, ESPN's Ed Werder indicated.
It's rumored Dallas' personnel department has Ramsey top on the team's draft board, while owner Jerry Jones and head coach Jason Garrett are pulling for Elliott at the pick. The Cowboys are expected to draft Ramsey if he's available, but there are indications the San Diego Chargers are seriously considering Ramsey at No. 3. Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa is no longer seen as a likely consideration for the Cowboys.
The Cowboys ranked 22nd in schedule-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play last season, and it's a bit of a head-scratcher that they would prefer Elliot's potential impact on the defense to that of Jalen Ramsey, the draft's top-ranked defensive back.
