Vikings' Irv Smith Jr. (thumb) "on track" for Week 1
Minnesota Vikings tight end Irv Smith Jr. (thumb) is "on track" to play against the Green Bay Packers in Week 1, according to Kevin O'Connell.
Smith suffered a thumb injury on August 1st that required him to have surgery the following day. He appears to be progressing in his recovery and is expected to be available for the start of the season.
Smith is the TE16 in numberFire's preseason fantasy projections. Our models expect Smith to haul in 53.7 receptions on 82.0 targets for 535.0 yards and 4.17 touchdowns.
