Jets' Aaron Rodgers done for season with torn Achilles
New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been diagnosed with a complete tear of his left Achilles tendon and is out for the rest of the season.
Rodgers suffered the injury on Monday night against the Buffalo Bills in his fourth snap with the Jets. The Jets may bring someone else in to replace Zach Wilson, but Rodgers' injury is still a significant downgrade for Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard, Mecole Hardman and Tyler Conklin. Wilson led the Jets with 5 catches and Lazard was first on the team with 46 yards. Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys defense are likely licking their chops in anticipation of a Week 2 matchup with Zach under center for the Jets.
Zach is the last-ranked starting quarterback in numberFire's Week 2 rankings and Garrett has fallen from the top-12 to top-20 range. Our models project him for 9.1 targets, 4.9 receptions, 69.0 yards, and 11.1 FanDuel points versus the Cowboys on Sunday. The Cowboys allowed just 5 catches for 41 yards on 14 targets to wide receivers in Week 1 and they have the top-ranked adjusted pass defense in the NFL, according to numberFire’s metrics.
