Josh Dobbs will be Vikings backup Week 9
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Josh Dobbs will be active as the backup in Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, per head coach Kevin O'Connell.
What It Means:
The Vikings acquired Dobbs from the Arizona Cardinals earlier this week. Dobbs exceeded expectations with the Cardinals this season, but fifth-round rookie Jaren Hall will start on Sunday. Hall could stick as the starter if he plays well against Atlanta.
Dobbs averaged 16.2 FanDuel points in eight games for the Cardinals and completed 62.8 percent of his passes for 1,569 yards (196.1 per game) with 8 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.
