Nick Mullens named Vikings' Week 16 starter
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Nick Mullens will start in the team's Week 16 game against the Detroit Lions.
The Vikings may have lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 15, but Mullens played well enough to earn himself another game as the team's starting quarterback. Mullens entered the year as the Vikings' expected QB2 before suffering an injury in training camp that opened the doors for Jaren Hall and Joshua Dobbs, and after Dobbs' struggles it now seems like the starting job is his to lose.
Mullens threw one of the more embarrassing interceptions of the year in his Week 15 start, but almost made up for it by throwing for 303 yards and a pair of touchdowns (as well as a second interception). The team may have fallen to the Bengals, but Mullens did play better in his first start of the year than we saw Dobbs play in his last few games.
