Chargers designating Joshua Palmer (knee) to return
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer (knee) will be designated to return from injured reserve on Wednesday, reports Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Palmer will likely practice on Wednesday for the first time since injuring his knee in Week 8 and landing on injured reserve. If he avoids a setback, Palmer could play in Week 14 against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. He would likely take back over for Quentin Johnston as the Chargers' second receiver behind Keenan Allen.
Palmer is averaging 7.3 targets, 4.0 receptions, and 90.0 yards per game when he plays at least 80 percent of the offensive snaps. The Broncos are allowing the sixth-fewest FanDuel points per game to wide receivers this season, but according to numberFire's opponent-adjusted efficiency rankings, they have the sixth-worst pass defense in the league.
