3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on Thursday 6/3/21
Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal more risk. This is especially true on tonight's slate, where there are lots of lower-salaried plays. Plugging in these options will afford you more chances to play some studs, as well.
Thursday night features two more playoff games. So, what values can we find?
Charlie Coyle, Center, Boston Bruins
FanDuel Salary: $3,900
Choices have gone down in the bucket on Thursday night. Charlie Coyle meets uh...Charlie Coyle?
The Boston Bruins' forward is a middle-six forward who can excel at center or wing. He is center-eligible on FanDuel, which helps. He bounced back in Game 2 versus the New York Islanders with a goal, four shots, three scoring chances, and a blocked shot. When Coyle skates with power and gets to the net, good things happen. Coyle must keep doing that against New York to have success.
Casey Cizikas ($3,600) is a fourth-liner who causes Boston fits. He fired five shots on net in Game 2, including the game-winning goal on a breakaway.
Martin Necas, Wing, Carolina Hurricanes
FanDuel Salary: $4,400
Andrei Svechnikov broke through in Game 2 against Tampa Bay with a goal. Is Martin Necas next?
Only six goals have been scored between the two teams in two games so far. Given the offensive talent on both sides, it feels like a breakout is coming.
Martin Necas has eight shots on goal and six scoring chances in this series. A few of his passes have also just missed the mark on high-danger royal road scoring chances. The winger has been very close to scoring and may get one tonight.
Jake DeBrusk is a high-risk alternative from Boston. He could play top-six minutes yet again and had three scoring chances versus the Islanders in Game 2.
Erik Cernak, Defenseman, Tampa Bay Lightning
FanDuel Salary: $3,700
With the push toward more offense in this series, Erik Cernak can offer offensive upside in addition to his defensive floor.
The Tampa defenseman has three assists in his last three games. He also blocked four shots in Game 2 as Carolina began to mount a late-game surge. Cernak can also get his hard slap shot on net. That can be a weapon in any situation.
There is some defensive value in several places on Thursday night. Ryan Pulock and Jaccob Slavin ($3,800) are worth a look. Slavin is healthy and should be unencumbered as far as shooting the puck and blocking shots.
