Antonio Gates, TE, San Diego Chargers

Can this idea that Antonio Gates is injury prone please stop? He may appear on injury reports, but he's missed just two games over the last four years due to injury.

And when Gates plays, he's a monster. He played in 11 games last year, 10 if you remove the fantasy irrelevant Week 17. That means he played two-thirds of the fantasy football season. Even still, he ended as a weekly top-12 (actually, it was top-10 in his case) tight end -- TE1 status -- six times. Only eight tight ends had more.

Over the last five years (we won't even talk about prime Gates), he's averaged nearly half a touchdown per game. Across a 16-game season, that's 8 scores. No tight end over the last decade has ranked worse than 11th at the tight end position in PPR leagues while scoring at least 8 times.

Gates is being drafted as TE11 in PPR leagues right now. He's being drafted, like many guys we've looked at, at his healthy floor.

And that's silly.
