5 Daily Fantasy Football Matchups to Exploit in Week 11
Detroit Lions Rushing Offense
Entering the season, did you ever think we'd get to a point where both Theo Riddick and Todd Gurley were the same price? That's what we've got in Week 11 with the pair checking in at $6,700 on FanDuel, and you know what? It makes a whole lotta sense, and even that may be too cheap for Riddick.
Riddick and the Detroit Lions will face the Jacksonville Jaguars at home on Sunday. The Lions are 6.5-point favorites, meaning they could be able to pound the ground game against the league's 32nd-ranked rush defense. That's good news for Riddick and company.
Last week, the Jaguars allowed the trio of Lamar Miller, Akeem Hunt, and Alfred Blue to rush for 158 yards on 30 carries, but they didn't find the end zone. It's a continuation of what we've seen a lot of this year out of Jacksonville. They've given up a ton of yards (905 to running backs, the ninth-highest mark in the league), but a lack of scores on the ground has permitted their rush defense to fly a bit under the radar for fantasy. The efficiency tells a different tale, forcing us to give further consideration to Riddick.
You don't really think of Riddick as being a traditional running back, but his efficiency numbers this year are solid. Both his 0.00 Rushing NEP per carry and 40.0% Success Rate are only slightly below average for high-volume backs, so he can at least hold his own. Once you adjust for schedule, the Lions are the league's 11th-most efficient rushing offense.
With Riddick, you're obviously looking for value beyond just his ground-game acumen. He has played at least 64.6% of the snaps in every game he has been healthy this year since Ameer Abdullah went down, and he has been heavily involved in the passing game. Riddick's target market share in the seven games he has played is 18.3%, including an 11-target outing in his first game off the injury. With the boost you get from receptions on the major daily sites, this is what pushes Riddick over the top.
The caveat here is that we will need to watch the practice reports this week. Riddick was limited in practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury. Ideally, we'd want him to get in a full session by the end of the week. If he can do that, it'll likely be a good time to dive back in and plug away at this diverse delight.
