Brian Robison, Defensive End

We have recommended Brian Robison a few times this season, but in a resurgent year for the aging defensive end, are you really complaining? Yes, Robison is the easiest way for you to acquire a slice of the dominant IDP pie that is the Minnesota Vikings defense, and so I would ride that fantasy horse into the ground in 2016.

Among the 64 defensive ends who have played 30 snaps per game this year, Robison has earned the 40th-most fantasy points per snap, due mainly to a 5th-lowest tackle rate. However, his sack rate has stayed impactful (14th-highest), and his quarterback hit rate has been solid and supports that (34th).

In Week 14, Robison should have chances to buoy his sack rate further, as he and the Vikings take on the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags haven’t allowed their quarterback to be a punching bag nearly as much as recent years, allowing the ninth-lowest sack rate in the league. Still, the volume of passing attempts they have means there should be plenty of chances to pin the ears back.

In addition, Jacksonville allows the ninth-highest stuff rate to opposing defenses, so Robison could pick up big-play points on the ground instead. He has just as many stuffs (6) as sacks, so however he gets disruption, Robison should score well this week.

Robison is available in 96.8% of ESPN IDP leagues, and we project him for 1.97 tackles, 0.54 sacks, and a total score of 4.07 fantasy points in Week 14.
