Chicago Bears

Top Needs: QB, DE, OLB, CB

The Chicago Bears have plenty of defensive issues that better health (nose tackle Eddie Goldman) and avoiding suspensions (inside linebacker Jerrell Freeman) can help. Still, they finished 32nd in Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP and could use more impact than Mitch Unrein and Pernell McPhee in the front-seven.

The Bears also came in just 19th in pass defense, by our metrics, which indicates they could still use some outside linebacker help and assistance in the cornerback group. Tracy Porter is not top cover corner-worthy, and -- despite Kyle Fuller's impending return to health -- the Bears are shallow on the boundary.

Quarterback Jay Cutler could be cut, due to his hefty cap hit and the fact that he led the Bears’ passer group to a 23rd-place ranking when adjusting for opponent. The offense is being held back mostly by the quarterback position, and they could look to draft a young signal-caller highly.
