Running Back Market Shares

1. Marlon Mack Is the Real Deal

After an offseason of uncertainty and a first half slowed by injuries, Marlon Mack is finally healthy, and he’s rewarding the Indianapolis Colts and fantasy owners in a big way.

In Week 8, Mack totaled 25 carries, 132 yards and 2 touchdowns, ranking him as the PPR RB3 for the week. Mack handled 62% of the Colts' rushing attempts in Week 8, while he and Nyheim Hines each had 2 receptions.

It's Mack's second straight huge game after he went off for 126 rushing yards and 1 score on the ground plus 33 yards and another touchdown through the air in Week 7.

With the Colts on bye in Week 9, it could be the perfect time to buy-high on a player who should be a lead back in a high-octane offense for the remainder of the season.

2. Joe Mixon Joins the Ranks of the Elite

The buzz around Joe Mixon never really left -- it just sort of swarmed around but never touched down in the way we expected.

Mixon stung the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for 123 yards and 2 touchdowns in Week 8, and in the process, he solidified himself in the RB1 conversation. Like Mack, you'll have to buy-high, but Mixon looks like he'll be one of the top fantasy backs down the stretch.

In Week 8, Mixon handled a 77% share of the Bengals' rushing attempts, and with Giovani Bernard still sidelined, Mixon's usage doesn’t figure to change much after the Week 9 bye.

Mixon will cost a pretty penny, but now is the time to see if the owner in your league needs a fill-in starter for this week and is willing to deal Mixon if the price is right.
