DraftKings Daily Fantasy Football Helper for Week 11
Running Backs
High-Cost Option: Adrian Peterson $6,800
Adrian Peterson's salary dropped $300 after rushing for over 200 yards? Okay, I'll bite. Peterson, the league's leading rusher, takes on a struggling Packers team that is allowing opposing running backs the ninth-most rushing touchdowns. Peterson has historically fared very well against when facing the Packers at home, averaging 124 rushing yards and scoring in 5 of 7 contests. A nice find in Rich Hribar's "The Worksheet: Week 11": Peterson is second in the league in runs of 5 or more yards (66), first in runs of 10 or more yards (28) and tied for second with seven runs of 20 or more yards. Peterson is seeing 42.9% of the team's targets and touches in the red zone, but has only two touchdowns to show for it. Regression is coming folks, and it could likely start this week against a Packers squad tied allowing the seventh-most red zone scoring attempts per game.
Mid-Cost Option: Darren McFadden $5,000
Despite the poor performance last week against Tampa Bay, Darren McFadden continues to be the Cowboys' workhorse as he's seen 20 or more touches in four straight games. With Tony Romo's anticipated return to the field this week, McFadden could see some better running lanes with a more stretched out defense respecting the passing game. Facing a Miami defense that's giving up the second-most fantasy points to opposing running backs, McFadden is in a nice spot for a big bounce-back game. The Dolphins have given up the fourth-most rushing yards and the most total touchdowns (rushing and receiving) to running backs. McFadden has been seeing obscene volume (seeing 87% of touches out of the backfield since his Week 7 start) and should be able to make value with ease this week in a closely projected game in Miami with Dallas as 1-point favorites.
Low-Cost Option: Charcandrick West $4,500
At only $4,500 Charcandrick West may be the chalk play of the week. He is also seeing incredible volume beginning from Week 7, receiving 87% of his team's backfield touches. He's averaged 25.7 fantasy points over that duration and now faces the Chargers this week, who are allowing the most fantasy points to opposing running backs. The Chargers have been burned on the ground this season, allowing the fifth-most rushing yards and the fourth-most rushing touchdowns to running backs. Regardless of game script, West will stay on the field for both rushing and receiving plays and will be a volume hog in this Kansas City offense. Road favorites by three points, all things are pointing towards a close game for the Chiefs with some heavy volume directed West's way.
GPP Wildcard: Danny Woodhead $5,300
Danny Woodhead could be a bit of an afterthought in GPP's this week with the tremendous values of other running backs available at cheaper costs. This game between the Chargers and the Chiefs should be close, and outside an inexplicable Week 8 where he only saw five touches, Woodhead has averaged 11 touches over his past six games, while going over 60 receiving yards in each one. Keenan Allen's injury opened the door for Woodhead last Monday Night, as he went over 100 total yards with a touchdown, scoring 23.1 fantasy points in the process. The Chiefs rushing defense has been rather stingy -- fifth-fewest fantasy points allowed to running backs -- but Woodhead's game allows him to be used in a receiver role as well as a red zone threat (leading team in rushes and tied for most targets in the red zone). With the vacated targets left behind by Allen, we've already seen Philip Rivers wasn't afraid to look Woodhead's way in their last game. Woodhead should provide a serviceable fantasy floor as well as an untapped ceiling we have yet to see against a Chiefs pass defense that is among the league's worst.
