FanDuel Daily Fantasy Football Helper: Week 9

With the Deshaun Watson injury and the Ezekiel Elliott suspension delay, is Dak Prescott the best quarterback play of Week 9?

If you've never played daily fantasy football on FanDuel before, it's time to start. Unlike traditional leagues, you're able to select the players you want on that specific day only, giving you a different squad to root for each and every week.

Here at numberFire we offer great tools for premium members. The analysis below is meant to help you understand why some of these players are top picks in our tools and projections because we don't want you going into the weekend completely blind. We want to help you. Keep in mind, however, that things can change drastically if an injury is announced, so make sure you're double checking the tools and projections as close as possible to kickoff.

Let's break down the main slate on FanDuel for this week.

Quarterbacks

This is a particularly odd week for navigating the DFS slate, as Deshaun Watson tore his ACL in practice, effectively altering the entire landscape from a roster construction standpoint. As if that weren't enough, news broke that Ezekiel Elliott suspension has been delayed for at least one more week, denying us the chance at somewhat clear running back value in our lineups. With all of that being said, let's break down the slate.

Dak Prescott ($8,200) - Prescott remains an elite cash game play and probably becomes the safest quarterback option on the board now that Watson is out and he has his running back at his side. Prescott had averaged 23.7 FanDuel points per game before a rain-soaked dud in Week 8 (7.32 FanDuel points). The Kansas City Chiefs rank just 18th in pass defense, by our metrics, and they're 21st in fantasy points per pass attempt allowed. Without Elliott, the Dallas Cowboys could have leaned on Prescott more. With him back, he could be in a better spot to move the ball and make good on the high over/under in that game, which is better for Prescott's fantasy floor and ceiling than just more volume anyway. We project Prescott for 20.23 FanDuel points this week at home with a 26-point implied total.
